WebI added a Samsung 970 Evo Plus, put a thermal pad on top and bottom, placed it where the default SK Hynix was, since the copper layer on the back plate was only on that side, and installed the SK Hynix on the other slot, since that runs cooler already, but put new thermal pads on top and bottom as well. I think highest my Samsung gets is 54.

Most of the drives actually have an optimum temperature and bringing their temperature down might actually hurt their performance.
