Refseq match
WebRefSeq gene transcripts, unlike GENCODE/Ensembl/UCSC Genes, are sequences that can differ from the genome. They need to be aligned to the genome to create annotations and UCSC and NCBI create alignments with different software (BLAT and splign, respectively). WebMay 17, 2024 · This collaboration aims to identify a single representative or “Select” transcript for each protein-coding human gene, and to update RefSeq and Ensembl annotation for these so they match. The project will continue to match additional transcripts between the two datasets.
