WebApr 7, 2011 · SBF's do better with a dual pattern cam; they need a little help on the exhaust side. Especially with Ford factory heads. Most hydraulic cams have an LSA of 110*. With a carb, that works just fine. But EFI does a little better with a wider LSA, like 114*. I'm a big fan of Comp Cams stuff. That's about all I use. WebDec 14, 2008 · 680 Posts. #8 · Nov 7, 2008. The XE282HR is a little on the lopey side and will tax out your RPM intake. With a Victor Jr. it will pull 475hp easily. The XE274HR is a little better and will work with the RPM. MM&FF just did a head bolt on story and made 450hp with this cam, AFR185's and the RPM intake.
